Nose: Fresh and fruity – freshly cut melon, green apple and pear – along with hot toast and honey with a sprinkling of freshly grated nutmeg.
Palate: Lovely smooth texture, with rich honeyed fruit freshened up with crisp apple notes. Gentle, sweet spice adds to the complexity. Very drinkable.
Finish: The rich mouth feel lingers, with the honeyed fruit lasting longest. Good balance.
Nose: Buttery cinnamon toast, concentrated raisin in the background, astringent woody touches, glacé cherry, barrel char.
Palate: Big sweet butter hit, with maple syrup, brown sugar, plump raisins, nutmeg, milk chocolate and more of the char from the nose.
Finish: Medium length, with chocolate, raisins and more char.
Nose: Rich and complex, milk chocolate and butterscotch combine with ripe peach and orange zest.
Palate: Perfect structure - initial notes of soft apricot and cream offset by developing flavours of liquorice and oak with a touch of honey.
Finish: Very long and balanced, progresses from creme brulee to a gentle oak flourish.
Nose: Crunchy barley sugar, sharp apples, cracked stones and lashings of smoke. Damp seaweed, rock pools and mossy stones stick out from behind the smoke, followed by tarry ropes, burning pine needles, singed lemon peel and barbecued apples.
Palate: Crisp apples, ash and a big hit of damp peat smoke to start. Gravel and burnt logs develop along with sea-spray brininess. The dryness disappears under a wave of lemon and apples, before reasserting itself with a shovel of driveway gravel and ash.
Finish: Fresh leather, creosoted fences and piles of lemon peel.
Nose: Sweet peat, coal, Caramac bars, a faint floral soapy note, pepper and chilli.
Palate: Very soft, mellow entry, then the spices and peat come through in a big way. Powerful, but with a balancing sweetness. Great length.
Finish: Long and warming, with the smoke and pepper lasting longest.
Nose: Chocolate and raspberry aromas, with rich brioche and stewed cherries.
Palate: Cherries and raspberries combine with sponge cake, spicy cinnamon and black pepper.
Finish: Sweet spice, red fruit, rich sponge cake.
Nose: The aroma is rich with notes of tropical fruits, namely passion fruit, and creamy toffee.
Palate: Sweet vanilla forms a creamy palate with notes of apples and mangoes with a hint of orange in the background.
Finish: The finish lingers with a vanilla focussed character.
Nose: Polished wood, cake spice, Danish pastries, dessicated coconut, vanilla cream, Cadbury’s Fruit and Nut bars.
Palate: Oily mouthfeel, soft sweet caramel, lightly spiced wood, good apple pie (stewed apples, lightly sweetened pastry and a few raisins thrown in for good measure), a cinnamon tingle and a hint of Mars Milk.
Finish: Sweet and fruity with a touch of fruit polish. Lingering rich caramel turns slowly to good old wood.
Nose: Elegant. White peach and a faint puff of smoke.
Palate: A gentle, subtle palate with loads of complexity. It offers up a mix of cranberries and cooked raspberries, a little white grape juice and barley.
Finish: Cocoa, slightly bitter as it tails away gracefully.
Nose: Appetising combo of smoke and caramelised pineapple with a heady hit of tropical fruit.
Palate: Some lovely smokiness, but the fruity elements really sing here: pineapple, peach and mango all dancing with the smoke that surrounds them. Great balance.
Finish: Rather soft and relaxing, with the smoke gently fading.
Nose: Aromatic, toffee, fruit salad, lush nectarine, custard. Floral, apple blossom, honeysuckle. Apple peels, pear, touch of smoke.
Palate: Malty. Walnuts steeped in manuka honey with vanilla sponge. Gentle smoke weaves its way through the cereal with a touch of spice.
Finish: Long, malty, walnut, almond.
Palate: Candied fruits and Glenfiddich freshness balances richer notes of dried apricot, more cinnamon and toffee, ginger and dry Sherry.
Finish: Peels and a touch of salted toffee.
Overall: A wonderfully rich and enjoyable Glenfiddich single malt.
Nose: Barley sugar, malt and dark brown sugar, with orange peels, marmalade, manuka honey, chocolate and foam bananas.
Palate: Full, fruitcake, spices, buttery vanilla, malty, with oak and candied ginger.
Finish: Long, with notes of mochaccino and marmalade.
Nose: A light, aromatic NOSEwith hints of barley malt, almonds, hazelnuts and manuka honey/beeswax.
Palate: Very fruity palate with a mix of stewed fruits, dessert wine, apple peels and honey. Becomes quite oaky late palate.

Palate: The palate is tropical and creamy with nectarines in yoghurt, acacia honey, peaches in cream and butterscotch.
Finish: Ends on tangy oak and grilled grapefruit with plenty of dark sugar caramelised on top…
Nose: Berry compote, crumble, hint of potpourri, almost floral, stewed plums. A mere hint of rancio? Perhaps.
Palate: Initially soft. Creamy, fruitcake, tropical fruit.
Finish: Long, very slight astringency. Oak, some fruit.
Nose: Fragrant, honeyed and sweet, with ripe apricots, honey and sweet white chocolate.
Palate: Mint toffee, caramelised oranges and baked apricot lead to honeycomb, almonds and dates.
Finish: Rich and syrupy, with caramelised citrus and pears fading to fudge and mint.
Nose: Lime and orange peel, coconut and sultanas, with spice and rich dried-fruit notes.
Palate: Spice up front, with ginger and nutmeg leading to toasted almonds and lemon.
Finish: Sweet vanilla and lemon zest fading to white chocolate and spice.
Nose: Soft, clean and refreshing: lemon sherbert and apricots, with honeyed fruit and a touch of toffee and vanilla. Gentle and satisfying.
Palate: A little weightier on the palate, with honey and malt, banana bread and subtle sweet spices. Clean and well balanced.
Finish: The honeyed fruit fades softly, and the finish is whistle-clean.
Nose: Full of winter berries and a touch of port. A good oak and a little cereal hanging in the substratum.
Palate: Sweet and thick. The port note is chewy and rich with notes of barley sugar and cereal and lots of juicy fruit and berries, a tad cloying.
Finish: Long and fruity and quite sweet.
Nose: Soft and sweet, with dried orange peel, cocoa, golden syrup and dried fruit.
Palate :Sweet dark chocolate, toasted spice and balanced barrel-char and coffee bitterness.
Finish: Long, with fresh citrus and slowly sweetening dark chocolate.
Nose: More like Lapsang Souchong tea than Lapsang Souchong! One of the smokiest noses from Islay. It's big, very, very concentrated, and redolent of iodine, sweet spices, good, mature Sherry and creamy vanilla. Stunning.
Palate: Very thick and rich. A massive mouthful of malt and Sherry with good fruity sweetness, but also a wonderful sweetness. Big, powerful peat and oak.
Finish: Long, spicy finish, figs, dates, peat smoke, vanilla.
Nose: Huge smoke, seaweedy, "medicinal", with a hint of sweetness.
Palate: Suprising sweetness with hints of salt and layers of peatiness.
Finish: Lingering.
Nose: Perfumed, soft oak, touch of Christmas cake, sweet spice and raisins.
Palate: Pear notes to the fore, plus toasty oak, with some rich custard-tart sweetness.
Finish: Woody and spicy, slightly drying.
Nose: Vanilla with hints of ginger, dried fruits, sherry sweetness and wood smoke.
Palate: Sweet raisins, plums and prunes, rich sherry, dark barrel char and soft spice.
Finish: Sweet toffee, dried fruit and lingering spice.
Nose: Smoky, maritime NOSEwith hints of sticking plasters and toffee brittle.
Palate: Smoky, creamy palate with notes of marmalade, toffee apples and pear cider. A development of cloves comes late palate.
Finish: A long, malty finish with toasty oak and spice.
Nose: Soft vanilla and sawdust as it opens, leading on to notes of dried fruit and mixed nuts.
Palate: Drying at first with oak and cinnamon, before hints of fresh apple and caramelised pear bring a juiciness to the palate.
Finish: A very subtle touch of smoke develops underneath toffee and blueberry on the finish.
