Fresh berry flavours and a fine white pepper ness add a spicy profile to the nose. This is a wine of elegance and linearity. The palate seems almost seamless with the soft approachable tannins rounding off the mouth feel.
Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby-red. Mineral-tinged aromas of raspberry, cherry liqueur, garrigue and exotic spices show excellent clarity and take on a minerally nuance as the wine opens up. At once rich and lively in style, offering penetrating red berry, bitter cherry and spice-cake flavors and a touch of candied lavender. Shows superb definition and finishes smooth, spicy and impressively long, leaving behind a bright mineral note.
Tasting Notes:
A blend of 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah this wine has all the perfume and fleshy generosity of fully ripe Grenache fruit with freshness and finesse of tannins and that faint hint of Provence herbs that makes southern Rhone reds, and Mont-Redon so special.
The nose is complex and inviting, offering Morello cherry, cranberry, raspberry and whiffs of candyfloss, rose petal and acacia blossom. The palate shows red apple and nectarine flavours with hints of green plum, citrus and rosewater following through. The wine is focused and balanced with a well-rounded, smooth mid-palate and integrated natural acidity. It ends clean and fresh with an attractive cherry finish and hints of exotic spices and cling peach.
A lively GSM with prominent notes of black cherry, blackberry, dark plum with hints of cloves and black pepper. Well structured, medium bodied with gentle tannins. Serve slightly chilled, 16-18ºC
Loaded with notes of black olives and black cherries, the full-bodied 2017 Gigondas is rich and velvety in the mouth. I'm not sure it's quite as good as the 2018, but it's certainly no slouch, with a long, silky finish that picks up a hint of cocoa.
